Birdeye speedwell often grows as an annual from early spring to summer. However, if its seeds germinate in autumn, it can also overwinter. The shoots reach lengths of up to 40 centimetres.

The leaves are heart-shaped, kidney-shaped or triangular and have a short stalk.

The native range is supposed to be in the northern Caucasus and Iran. As an introduced species, this speedwell can be found nearly worldwide (source).
