Habitus & biology
Barbarea vulgaris is a biennial plant and can grow up to one metre tall. After the seeds germinate, only a rosette of leaves grows and overwinters to flower the following spring.

Eurasia, North Africa and as an introduced species also on the American continents (source).

Barbarea vulgaris grows in meadows, ditches, gravel banks, along riverbanks, roadsides and on embankments. It does best in evenly moist soil.
